Just about a month ago, our dear family and church friends Dave & Myma Arizala welcomed their first-born Jaden. The pregnancy was delicate and unfortunately Jaden’s term in the womb had to be cut short due to some complications. At barely 7 mos, the couple’s tiny angel had to endure weeks inside the incubator as his parents loomed over him. I could imagine the new mother’s pain as she watches her child through the glass day after day. So near and yet so far… It is painfully ironic that the baby is already born but she couldn’t cradle her yet. But of course prayers are powerful and by God’s grace Jaden is now home to Mommy Myma and Daddy Dave. Jaden is still very small but one could already sense the warrior in him. It is amazing how this fragile little body can teach us so much about God’s faithfulness. Now we can’t all wait to see Jaden grow and perhaps even bigger than most kids.
In an almost parallel situation, I gave birth myself. Unfortunately not to a baby boy but to a baby business – my online video program and portal: MyPetChannel.TV
I could not resist seeing some similarities between the two. My own conception of this enterprise proved to be volatile too. I was on the edge – spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially. Because of a lot of complications and issues such as: there was Ondoy that caused a lot of delay, creative differences between me and my business partners, which includes my husband by the way, deadlines not being met by people that we hired, etc etc… my “baby” almost didn’t make it.
Now technically our BABY was already born on World Animal Day (our soft launch) but like Jaden it had to be incubated for some time (it was on a dev site address for the web programming to be complete). Just like Myma and the rest of the Arizalas and the Atienzas, and everybody else who cared for Jaden, it was kind of frustrating to know that the baby is here but not quite. Like their family, I had to constantly check my “baby” while it was on the dev site. Every day I was hopeful that my web programmer would finally tell me the good news that the site is ready for migration to its actual URL which is WWW.MYPETCHANNEL.TV – the same way that Myma had been praying for the doctor to finally tell her that Jaden is ready to go home.
God sustained Myma just as He also filled me all throughout this stressful time. It was a long arduous wait and even though both our babies are still recuperating we praise God for the blessing. Myma’s Jaden and my MyPetChannel.TV are here. Even though they’re both still small and fragile – Jaden needs his regular check-ups and medicine; while MPC needs more effective plug-ins to be installed – we know that they are God’s gifts and He has nothing but great plans and beautiful promises for them.
You may find it weird that I have likened my business to an actual infant. Haha. But this is really my baby… my family’s new source of livelihood… our new ministry. So we sincerely ask you to pray for it. Please support our site even while it is on BETA mode. Please pray for wisdom as I lead my company and protection from people and circumstances that may discourage and harm it. Thanks!
